BBC 60 seconds heeft een gids samengesteld voor de Edinburgh Festival Fringe, waar ik me in augustus ga vermaken. Met handige overlevingstips:
Imagine yourself walking down a street near your home. Suddenly your way is impeded by a man dressed in a body stocking who appears to be trapped in an unseen box. Rather than explain his plight, he pulls sad mawkish faces and wipes away one solitary imaginary tear. He also appears to be wearing make-up.
Now what do you do?
a) run for the hills
b) put him down as a loony freak
c) applaud his artistry, creativity and give him your hard earned moolah for the “pleasure” of watching him paint-a-picture-without-words.
Whereas a or b would be the normal response, in Edinburgh suddenly you’re expected to run with c - don’t. Refuse to do it.
